Free Dental Care for Kids Under 18

Under 18 Free Dental Care

For children from birth to Year 8

Free dental care for children is provided by the Community Oral Health Service in community clinics around New Zealand. Call 0800 TALK TEETH to enrol your child or book an appointment.

For adolescents from Year 9 until their 18th birthday

Hillcrest and Tamahere Dental Centre are proud to be able to provide free, quality dental care to those under the age of 18 in association with the Ministry of Health.

It is important for people of all ages to attend for regular check-ups to prevent dental decay and gum disease, and to be able to quickly and effectively receive the necessary treatment when required.

Most dental treatment is provided free under the scheme. Some treatments require prior approval from the Ministry of Health, and those that are not covered can be paid for privately if necessary. It is best to talk to your dentist to discuss what treatment you require.

It’s easy to enrol – just call 07 856 7462 and speak to our friendly receptionists.
